Basics of an HVAC System

Mechanical ventilation gets handled by the HVAC system. Modern buildings have tighter seals than older structures, making mechanical ventilation an important component.
Once the air gets drawn in from outside, it must undergo various heating, cooling, and/or filtration processes to adapt it to the preset internal conditions of a facility. From there, the system blows the air through the building’s ducts and registers to bring internal spaces those predetermined temperature and humidity levels.
HVAC systems typically feature three primary interrelated functions. These functions are made up of nine individual parts:
